ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Scott,
I'm a guy who loves creating things for people and learning lots of stuff along the way.
My background in a sentence: bachelors in biochemistry and mathematics. academic research in CRISPR and organic compound synthesis. self-taught machine learning and software engineering. started entrepreneurship launching ecom brands and simple software. started an agency growing other brands using the same systems. got my masters at Columbia in chemical engineering and data science. did academic research using AI/ML to explore batteries and green energy.
After doing this, I packaged up my learnings, and worked with brands through growth marketing and tech implementation services. Since then, I’ve worked with 1000+ brands across while also building and scaling my own.
Along the way I've generated over 16 billion views, driven $500+ million in attributed revenue, and grown an audience of 200,000+ subscribers and followers.
But here's what I've learned to enjoy the most: learning and exploring systems that develop me and my ideas. Clear inputs, honest feedback, relentless iteration. I find Kaizen to be one of my favorite terms for this reason.
And there’s nothing more fun than sharing it with others and building a community to grow with. So now I document all of it. The wins, the failures, and the exact systems behind both, sent free every week to ambitious people who refuse to stay ordinary.

I've paid actual money for stuff with less in it than one of these. Kind of annoying to think about.

I'm subscribed to like 30 newsletters and I skim most of them. This is one of maybe three I actually open.

Set up the content thing, it works

Took me an afternoon to set up the workflow from one of the issues. Still using it. Not sure why I waited so long honestly.

Came for the AI stuff. The issue about how he structures his week is the one I keep going back to.

There's a difference between someone who did the thing and someone who read about the thing. This is the first one.

Changed my mind on a channel

I'd basically written off a channel and one of his issues made me try it again. It's doing a lot of our inbound now.

Team reads it now

I forwarded a couple of issues and now three people on my team are subscribed. We've referenced it in standup a few times.

No mindset stuff

Zero motivational filler which is what I was worried about when I signed up. It's just the actual thing and how to do it.

I appreciate that he writes about the things that flopped. Everyone else just posts wins and it's exhausting.

We cut a few things and put the budget into one channel based on something he wrote. Numbers went the right direction.

Not "improve retention." He'll give you the actual sequence and what numbers to watch. That's rare.

Talked me out of a bad purchase

I was about to commit to a whole tool stack and one issue convinced me not to. Probably saved me a year of subscriptions.

We've changed direction twice since I subscribed and the stuff in here still applied both times.

Some of the automation stuff goes over my head, I'll admit. But the ones that land are worth the ones that don't.

Most growth advice assumes you have ten people. I have me. This is one of the few that gets that.

No pitch at the end

It just ends. There's no course, no upsell, no "book a call." I kept waiting for it and it never came.

I have a folder of stuff I want to come back to and it's mostly issues of this.

Weekly is right. Daily would be too much, monthly and I'd forget I signed up.
